Marta Mileusnić graduated in geology in 1998 from the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Zagreb. Since 1999, she has been employed at the same faculty, currently holding the position of a full professor. She teaches courses in environmental geology and geochemistry. She has supervised 3 student papers awarded with the Rector’s Award, 21 final papers, 14 master’s theses, and 2 dissertations. She has completed several workshops related to teaching methodology and e-learning, as well as all courses of the E-learning Academy. As a visiting professor/scientist, she has stayed in Austria, Romania, Morocco, the USA, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Since 2012, she has been involved in various commissions related to the revision, amendment, and implementation of study programs. She has authored one manual and one professional paper on the topic of socially useful learning. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Centre for e-Learning of the University of Zagreb, she received recognition from the University Computing Centre (SRCE) for exceptional cooperation and promotion of e-learning at the Faculty of Mining, Geology, and Petroleum Engineering.
She has a wide range of scientific interests, from environmental geochemistry and mineralogy to geoarchaeology and archaeometry of ceramics, and more recently, the value chain of mineral resources. She has participated in numerous European projects (FP7, EIT KIC-RM, ESF), bilateral projects, and projects funded by the Ministry of Science, Education, and Sports (MZOS) and the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ). She has published 23 full scientific papers in journals, 4 chapters in books, 5 chapters in excursion guides, 5 full scientific papers, and numerous abstracts in conference proceedings. For 16 years, she has been the editor for mineralogy of the scientific journal Open Geosciences (formerly Central European Journal of Geosciences). In addition to participating in numerous conferences and workshops in different countries, she has spent a total of 12 months in Vienna at the Department of Applied Geology of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences for scientific training during the preparation of her master’s and doctoral theses.
